Helen Gerstein – Secretary

Helen Gerstein moved to Frisco in 2012 and immediately immersed herself by volunteering throughout Summit County. She has participated in such events as Bike Races, 5Ks, Ushering at Riverwalk, Science Night, History Day, Active Shooter and Gondola evacuation just to name a few. She has even helped the Senior Center with the Margarita Booth, Rummage Sale, Senior Games, Loosey Goosey, and Movie Night.
She was president of the local PTA, Central Council PTA as well as president of the Wyoming State PTA. She was Legislative Chair and lobbied at the state level in Cheyenne, Wyoming as well as the federal level in Washington D.C. As a result, she landed on the board of directors of the National PTA. She has organized conventions and conferences for the state PTA.  She also was on the Cheyenne Sting Youth Soccer board where she was co-chair of several soccer tournaments.
After having her two sons, she slowed her pace down and was the client services coordinator for Meals on Wheels in Cheyenne, Wyoming. When no longer volunteering in her sons’ elementary school she switched her career path and became a substitute teacher and later a classroom teacher.
She has been married to her husband Don for 38 years. They have two sons. Noah who was in the Marine Corp and now lives in Michigan with his wife Casie and their three sons, Logan, Landon and Lawson. Their other son Eli and his wife Sam live in Avon and they also have a son Ezra.

Her motto, adopted from John Kennedy’s quote, is “Ask not what your community can do for you; ask what you can do for your community.”
