Alcoholics Anonymous – Meetings take place throughout Summit County. (970) 453-2095.

Al-Anon – Al-Anon offers hope and help to families and friends of alcoholics. No dues or fees. (970) 513-4990.

Shaw Cancer Center Support Group – Shaw’s support group ensures that cancer patients are not alone in their journey and addresses the experiences of cancer treatment. The Summit Cancer Support Group features speakers on health-related topics and serves as a support system for patients and family members. Vanessa is a licensed clinical social worker and the counselor for Shaw.

Caregiver/Memory Loss Support Group – This group meets the second Tuesday of each month at the Senior Center. Walk ins are always welcome. Those who have a friend or family member for whom they are caring, or who are experiencing any form of memory loss are encouraged to come get support and resources to assist them. Grief Support Group
– Bristlecone Health Services understands that grief often brings up unfamiliar and sometimes confusing emotions. The death of a loved one can be one of life’s toughest challenges. To help you through the challenges of grief, Bristlecone holds free grief groups, open to anyone in the community, no appointment necessary. This group meets the last Monday of each month at Summit Medical Center from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on the second floor boardroom. Mental Health Counseling & Support – Colorado West Mental Health offers a variety of services to assist community members who are dealing with substance abuse, depression, and other mental health issues. For more info, please visit, or call (970) 668-3478.

Eligibility Based Services
– Some assistance is available for low income and vulnerable senior citizens for acquisition of services, based upon qualifying criteria. For more info, please contact Lorie Williams at (970) 668-2945.

Adult Protective Services – Adult Protective Services investigates abuse, neglect, and exploitation of elders and at-risk adults. At-risk adults are 18 years or older and are at risk of abuse and neglect because they are unable to perform tasks or set up services for their own safety, or they lack capacity to make responsible decisions. Reports are confidential. This program is administered through Summit County Social Services, (970) 668-9160.
